Louisville Business First
These are the 2021 Best Places to Work in Louisville (RANKED)
The time that people spend at work and on work activities is a significant portion of their waking hours. Employees want to work for a company or organization that cares for their well-being, has perks and good benefits and where they feel engaged.
That’s why I’ve been working at Louisville Business First for over 16 years.
Again this year, we are honoring dozens of companies and nonprofits, nominated by employees, as the Best Places to Work in Greater Louisville honorees. There are 42 companies being honored this year, which you can find listed below.
Despite challenges during Covid-19, these companies and nonprofits persevered and kept morale at a high level. Organizations and employees were tested during these times.
For many of the organizations, rethinking work, community and office culture had to be addressed. Some companies shifted to all virtual, but for some the nature of the job meant staying in-person.
Employers had to keep their employees safe, as well as their customers or those they serve, while maintaining a business. Teams learned to work together remotely and figure out new processes that were found to be beneficial. When offices reopened those processes continued to be the norm in many cases because it worked so well.
These 42 employers seem to know how to make it work. The Best Places to Work program is administered by Omaha, Nebraska-based Quantum Workplace, which surveys employees directly about workplace policies, office conditions, management styles and more.
There is even a minimum level of employee participation to be considered a Best Places to Work. These honorees were selected because of their employees’ feedback and not outsides judges like we use for some of other programs.
The companies fall into three categories: Those with 10-24 employees; those with 25-150 employees; and those with 151 or more employees. They represent all industries. We're giving the No. 1 company in each category a little extra digital ink. You can click the link to find more about each category winner.
From expanding parental leave policies, increased flexibility, hybrid work policies, counseling services covered at 100% to catering meals or monthly book clubs, there are many reasons these 42 employers make our list of Best Places to Work in Greater Louisville.
